Role & responsibilities

  • Design and develop re-usable assets in Kotlin which can be leveraged in mobile apps across the bank e.g. such as security, networking, telemetry, analytics components
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in Android development, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Implement best practices for mobile application development, including code optimization, performance tuning, security and memory management.
  • Responsible for the quality of the code repository where applicable.
  • This role is around capability building, it is not to own applications or delivery.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 8+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong portfolio of Android applications.
  • Ability to articulate the overall vision for the Chapters and ensure upskilling of the organisation holistically
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages, with a deep understanding of Android SDK, APIs, and frameworks including Ktor, Firebase Cloud messaging
  • Experience with Android Studio, Git and related plugins such as Memory analyzer,s Profilers for instrumentation of Android apps
  • Strong understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns (e.g., MVP, MVVM), and best practices.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and ability to collaborate effectively with designers to create visually appealing and intuitive interfaces.
